Quality events for this weekend vol. 65

Photo from last year’s Halloween edition of OUTPOST1 at the Fuze Box

Last year, I wrote Keep Albany Boring’s Guide To Halloween.

This year, it’s mostly still relevant with the following facts remaining true: Halloween weekend is just like every other weekend (you can either have fun or not, choice is yours) and stressing out about your costume completely voids the spirit of Halloween. Also, Halloween pretty much lasts from now through to October 31st and there’s a lot going on.

Right now it’s 2pm with Halloween weekend itching closer and so far my costume is just wearing all black. I’ll get there. If you’re like me, perhaps more important than the costume, is figuring out weekend plans. Hopefully the following compiled list helps point you in the right direction.

Anything I missed, please leave as a comment.

Hit the jump!

Friday, October 26

Troy Night Out: Walk around in downtown Troy and you’re bound to run into some Halloween-related fun, with many locations participating in this month’s TNO. Be sure to check here for specifics, find out what businesses will give discounts to those in costume, which spots are doing trick-or-treating and also for info on the haunted house.

Zombie Mob: When you’re checking out TNO, don’t be too alarmed if you see people dressed as zombies. Check the event for details on this year’s organized zombie mob, which will end in a group Thriller dance flash mob.

A Very Special Halloween Cretin Hop: If you’re in the mood for classic and awesome Halloween music (which you should be) and dancing, be sure to check out the Fuze Box tonight. There will be a limited edition door prize as well, so be sure to get there early. Wear a costume.

Annual fundraiser for the Lark Bid: Chris Pratt and Lark Street Business Improvement District host the Third Annual Halloween Party Friday October 26th from 9pm-1am at the Washington Park Playhouse. Costumes are mandatory and there are prizes for the best costumes! Open bar, too. Tickets are $20 in advance, or $40 at the door.

MPack the Vote: A benefit supporting the Cooperative Economics and Vote2012 initiative featuring DJ Trumastr, Super DJ Phayda and the Fat Buckle Trio.

Costume party at Bogies: Featuring Moodswings To Murder, Faced, Breathe The Skyline, Arc Storm, Straight Through Sanity and special guests Skulls (a tribute to The Misfits). There will be a $100 prize for best costume and prizes for 2nd and 3rd as well.

Creeping Crawling: As featured on KAB, the premiere of Creeping Crawling is tonight at the Madison Theater. The film was created right here in the Capital Region, which is so awesome.

Halloween Party at Putnam Den: For those of you looking for Halloween fun in Saratoga, look no further than Skeletons in the Piano performing at the Putnam Den.

Jungala: For the adventurous and those seeking bass music to dance to, head on down to New Paltz for the Halloween-edition of Jungala, where Rizzla of the Fade to Mind imprint will be gracing the decks alongside residents Far East, Scallywag and Brother Suarez.

Fourth Friday and everything classic! At Justin’s with your tastemakers Nate Da Great and Trumastr (Great Master) playing all classic jams of all genres.
