Friday, November 16th

3rd Annual Orlo Goes Global: A Hair Show at the NY State Museum. Runway show featuring avant garde hair and creative makeup by the Orlo School of Hair Design and Cosmetology alumni and students. Also a benefit for the NYS museum after school program plus music by DJ Trumastr, desserts, a cash bar and a photo booth.

Dubbel Dutch at the Pearl Street Pub! Brooklyn-based label Mixpak’s own Dubbel Dutch is one of our favorite producers in the game and he’s been overdue for a visit to Albany. Pro tip: lock into WCDB at 6pm for your official pre-game music with Party With Tina and Knomad before catching Knomad play tonight alongside Dubbel Dutch himself and a handful of local DJs.

M.R. Poulopoulos and Rosary Beard at Desolation Road Studios. If you haven’t been to Altamont before, do yourself a favor and drive through the quaint village and listen to live music at the heart of it all. BYOB.

Ladyfest Fundraiser: at the Women’s Building at 373 Central Avenue. Fundraiser for Ladyfest Upstate featuring a showing of the film “Pariah,” with a panel discussion to follow.

Heather Styka and Water Liars: at the Hudson River Coffee House. Albany debuts for the Chicago-based singer-songwriter and the Mississippi/Missouri based group.

5th Annual B3nson Family Funsgiving: Celebrate tradition and all things grand with the local music collective at Valentine’s.

Zombie Prom: at Proctor’s. If you’re looking for an occasion to destroy your old prom dress with fake blood and give it new life in Zombie style, look no further than Proctor’s! With DJ Rana Ransom on the decks. Prom King and Queen will also be crowned at 11.

Just-In Time for Friday DJ Trumastr at Justin’s. Always a good Friday night choice.

Saturday, November 17th

Pride of New York Harvest Fest at 660 Albany Shaker Road. Nearly 100 vendors from throughout New York will be showcasing their goods available for sale and for sample.

New York’s Capital Region Vegetarian Expo at the Polish Community Center. This year’s expo will feature nationally renowned speakers on health, nutrition and animal rights, as well as other awesome stuff.

PJ Katz ’92 Renault Music Release Party at Valentine’s. Support local label Pig Food Records and area mastermind musician PJ Katz as he recreates his album with his live band. Check out KC’s album review and get acquainted if you haven’t already.

Concert at Jack’s Place featuring The Front Bottoms, Bear Language, Stellar Young and This Old Ghost.

Sunday, November 18th
