Inside the Trojan Hotel: Photos

The news broke last week that the Trojan Hotel in Troy was sold, and there’s big plans in store for the 5-story, almost 20,000sqft building. In a nutshell, the O’Brien family purchased the building and plan on moving their restaurant (O’Brien’s Public House) in, as well as calling the former Trojan Hotel their home. There’s quite a lot of work to be done, but they’re planning on tackling the project one floor at a time, starting with the restaurant. The basement will reopen as a bar. If you’re interested in all the details, read the full story from the Troy Record.

I stopped by during the Farmer’s Market on Saturday and got a tour of the building and gave it a once-over with my camera. It’s going to be a lot of work, but well worth it once completed. I’m glad to see another building getting an adaptive reuse rather than knocked down or left vacant. Click the photo above or hit the jump to see the gallery.
